Year 3 stepped into the world of government by experiencing an oligarchy! Three of our children were granted the power to make up the rules for the afternoon and we all had to obey 😱It didn’t take long for us to realise just how unfair it could be, with some children receiving stickers and extra playtime, while others were given the unfortunate task of doing spelling tests 🫣! We then explored democracy and compared the two systems before having our very own fair vote on whether children should have chores at home. After counting the votes, we decided a democratic government is definitely our favourite because everyone gets a voice and a chance to be heard! What a fantastic afternoon of learning, discussion and debate - really developing our oracy skills. #enjoy #embrace #evolve
