Learning about mummification!
Year 4 have been learning all about the process of mummification as part of their writing topic in English. They couldn’t believe the brain was pulled out through the nose!
River Wyre - Year 4
What a fantastic day Year 4 have had visiting the various courses of the River Wyre! We started in Abbeystead, where we completed some fieldwork by getting into the river (Year 4's favourite bit!). Next, we headed to Garstang to spot some meanders before ending in Knott End to watch the river go…
Carnivores, herbivores and omnivores!
This week in Science, we have been looking at the teeth of carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. We learnt that carnivores have sharp teeth to rip and tear meat, whereas herbivores have large, flat teeth to grind and chew plants. Omnivores have a mix of both!
Super Spellers in Y4!
Year 4 have been working hard to learn their spellings this week. We’ve been playing ‘four in a row’ with our partners to test them on our common exception spellings.
Data collecting on the playground!
Yesterday, Year 4 went on a hunt around the playground to collect data for our Science unit. We looked for flowering and non flowering plants and also vertebrates and invertebrates. We found lots of flowering plants and invertebrates!
Red Nose Day!
Year 4 #enjoyed coming into school dressed in red to celebrate Red Nose Day!

Conductors and Insulators!
Today, we’ve been learning about conductors and insulators. We tested some different materials to see whether the bulb would light up. They loved working with the electrical equipment!
World Book Day in Year 4
Year 4 #enjoyed World Book Day yesterday. They came in dre3ssed as their favourite book character or in their pyjamas!
We designed our own book covers, listened to a 'mystery reader' and joined in with the BBC live lesson.

Net & Court (PE)
Children in year 4 have started their Net & Court unit of work in PE. They are looking at skills they would be using in a game of Tennis.
Simple Circuits
Year 4 have been learning how to create a simple circuit. They worked in groups to try and figure out how to get the bulb to light up. They loved investigating and trying out different ways of making the circuit light. Great teamwork!
Potato heads in PSHE!
Year 4 have been celebrating their differences in PSHE lessons. They worked together in groups to create the craziest looking potato head. It's safe to say they enjoyed doing this...have a look at some of their crazy creations!
Safer Internet Day Y4
Today is Safer Internet Day! We watched the BBC live lesson all about AI. We loved learning about what it is and how it is used in everyday life!
