Welcome To Delph Side

Delph Side is everything a primary school should be; fun, exciting, caring and forward-thinking!

My name is Liz Ormerod and I am proud to be the Headteacher of Delph Side Community Primary School.  Having approximately 250 children across our school, we cater for children from the ages of 2 to 11 with a Nursery, Pre School, Key Stage Two SEN Unit (‘The Hangout’) and single form classes from Reception to Year Six,  everyone feels part of our very special school family.

Our teachers are EXCEPTIONAL, providing quality, tailored learning for each and every child, every day.  We are a very strong team, our results are a testament to that.

Our Values & Ethos

At the heart of the community, we welcome and nurture promoting resilience, growth and independence within our inspiring and transformative environment.

To ensure all children enjoy their learning and attending school. To provide opportunities for children to embrace learning through real-life, hands-on experiences. To prepare children to evolve into the next stage of their schooling

At Delph Side Community Primary School we value all teaching and learning experiences to develop a cultural capital. We strive to raise levels of attainment for all pupils enabling them to achieve their personal best and to become confident and enquiring life long learners.

Performance

Children's learning is assessed continually throughout the year. Teachers use this assessment information when planning future learning.

For Reading, Writing and Mathematics, we use Key Learning Indicators of Performance(KLIPS) to measure pupil attainment and progress.

In other national curriculum subjects, children's learning in each year group is measured against outcomes linked to the Key Stage content. At the end of the academic year, a judgement is made to determine whether a child is 'Working At' in the Year Group expectations.

Ofsted Report

Our last Ofsted inspection was in January 2020, just before the Pandemic.

We are very proud to be a GOOD school, and we proudly believe all our Delph Siders receive EXCEPTIONAL provision.

"Once a Delph Sider, always a Delph Sider" - this is a very special place
